WHAT IT DOES:
Chemclean Liquid Milkstone Remover is an acidic liquid cleaner designed to remove milkstone and residue easily and safely. It renders calcium salts soluble and removes the calcium-protein combinations present in burned-on milk films. It has excellent wetting and penetration properties, and works quickly.
WHAT IT IS:
Chemclean Liquid Milkstone Remover is an acidic water-white liquid with no odor and no flash point.
HOW TO USE IT:
In general, use at 1 pint per 30 gallons (500 mL to 120 liters) of water in the equipment. Where a hard water condition exists or an extremely large volume of milk is processed, use at 1 quart per 30 gallons (1 liter to 120 liters). Usual circulation temperatures will range from 140-150F (60-66C), except in the case of high-temperature short pasteurizing units where a circulation temperature as high as 170-175F (76-80C) may be used. The solution should be prepared in a separate tank and heated by means of a steam hose or line or by means of the heating facilities of the equipment itself. A separate pump should be used to circulate this cleaning solution if the milk pump is lubricated by the passage of milk itself. A relatively small volume of Chemclean Liquid Milkstone Remover is required for thorough cleaning. At all times, make certain that either rinse water or the acidic Chemclean solution is in the equipment; the unit should never be empty or dry during the cleaning circulation procedure. Circulation of Chemclean C.I.P. Alkaline Cleaner solution should follow acidic treatment.
Chemclean Liquid Milkstone Remover is an acidic cleaning compound authorized by the U.S.D.A. for use in all departments of federally inspected meat and poultry plants. Before using these compounds, food products and packaging materials must be removed from the room or carefully protected. After using these compounds, all surfaces in the area must be thoroughly rinsed with potable water.
